Jessica Munna

About Jessica

I am a US-born/UK-based actor, writer, and offie-nominated theatre-maker.

I am currently an artist on the Omnibus Theatre Engine Room Scheme and will be performing with my collaborator, Untapped Winner Davinia Hamilton, a WIP of our new show (the raucous political theatre romp & spectacular descent into fascism about culture wars, cancel culture, & conspiracy theories) MalContent in December 2024.

My first solo show Pieces Of Us received critical acclaim at EdFringe 2023, praised as “heartfelt” & “poignant” by The Scotsman and described by Broadway Baby as a work that “hangs around under your fingernails long after you’ve left the theatre.”

I am known for my portrayal of The Woman in Finn Callan’s cult horror film, “Guest” which premiered at FrightFest and ScreamFest to critical acclaim and has been viewed on YouTube over 10 million times.

I am a lover of film & comedy. I scratch my filmmaking/comedy itch by making experimental comedy/film shorts and I release them on my Youtube channel, The Factory.

A classically trained LAMDA graduate, member of the Young Vic Creators Program, and alumni of SOHO Young Company & Offie-winning Degenerate Fox, I draw from my varied experience in documentary film, theatre, jazz singing, and satire to make original performances that explore female experience, death, & capitalism.

I was a commissioned artist in 2022 by Barrel Organ, Spin Arts, and Bradford Producing Hub to share 20 minutes of my comedy show What A Drag.

I began my career using performance and arts education as a peace-building tool in international development & disaster relief contexts. I travelled to 30+ countries around the world with my outreach work, performing as a busking singer and freelancing in documentary film in NYC. I received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship for my outreach work and spent 5 years studying, working, and teaching music/theatre/film making & performance in South Africa while serving as a cultural ambassador.
