Healing Creative Wounds

A very wise friend of mine recently said to me, “Art is grief in alchemy.” And I could not agree more.

Over the years I’ve had my share of wounds, creative and otherwise. Collaborations with friends (or romantic partners) turning or changing in a way that leaves you feeling less confident. Learning a new creative hobby and a loved one making a critical judgement every time you practice. An employer who won’t pay fairly or on time, leaving you drained financially and creatively undervalued. Losing money on a project that you love at a big festival (Hi EdFringers, I see you!). Feeling rejected by this grant and that job. Trying to be  vulnerable in a world where it can feel impossible to do so.

Here’s a gentle few ideas to start healing those wounds, creative and otherwise, and nurturing your relationship with your self, creative and otherwise.
